There are several different methods on how to work out what length paddle is right for you. We also advise the first the step is to check with your coach, as they are in the best position to give advice base on your teams paddling technique.
This is the method that we use, and, have had great customer satisfaction. It’s best to ask another person to take the measurement for you.
Sit up straight on a chair or other hard surface
- Raise our right arm vertically upwards pointing the ceiling, giving your maximum reach without overstretching
- Measure the length between the centre of your hand to where your bottom connects with the seat
- Repeat on left arm
If these measurements differ, we generally advise going with the shorter length, on the assumption that you paddle on both sides of the boat.
